Rare Nikon DS-12 EE Aperture Control Attachment W DN-1 Rare DS-1H Case Description Our SKU: 10478741 Item Brand: Nikon Item MPN: 65465 Nikon DS-12 EE Aperture Control Attachment DS-1H Case Up for sale is this Nikon DS-12 Aperture Control Attachment with a DN-1 type battery plus the rare DS-1H case for the set. The DS-12 was designed to work with the Nikon F2-AS pro models and when attached, it would allow automatic control of the aperture to provide the correct exposure to correspond to the shutter speed the user would set on the camera. This was the precursor of the 'shutter speed priority' feature that future cameras would enjoy. Utilizing the Photomic finder's meter readings of the subject's brightness, the DS-12 continuously adjusts the lens aperture to maintain correct exposure. Its automatic exposure control functions at all shutter speeds, and couples with Nikkor lenses thru use of the rabbit ears. Provision for manual override makes for flexibility of use. The DS-1H is rarely seen. This case was designed to hold any of the three DS attachments, plus up to two extra DN-1 batteries. Cosmetic Condition DS-12: As you can tell from the photos, this attachment in excellent shape with very light use and a clean battery compartment. DS-1H: Unfortunately this was the era when Nikon moved from expensive leather cases to synthetic cases. Basically a cardboard wrapped with a leatherette skin. Needless to say, they didn't last long before they cracked, split and the leatherette turned to a powder. That is the fate of this case. The inside is decent however. Strap has a lot of wear. Operating Condition The attachment was tested with DN-1 battery and is operating properly. A dead rechargeable DN-1 style battery is included for display and/or as a shell for rebuilding.
